Residential Addiction Treatment at The Beekeeper House
Set in the mountains of Chiang Mai and accredited to AACI Gold standard, we combine clinical care with a calm, private environment where recovery can take root.
Whatever you are facing, our team will help you understand your options and design a plan around your needs.

Types of Addiction We Treat
Every person’s relationship with addiction is different, so treatment begins with an in-depth assessment of your medical, psychological, and personal needs, and a plan built around what that assessment finds. These are the main areas we treat.
-

Alcohol Addiction
For drinking that has become difficult to control, we provide medically supervised detox where it is needed, followed by therapy that addresses the reasons behind it.
-

Drug Addiction
We treat dependence on a wide range of drugs, combining medical care with evidence-based therapy.
-

Prescription Drug Addiction
Prescription medicines can become addictive even when taken as directed, and some are dangerous to stop suddenly. We treat dependence on prescription painkillers, benzodiazepines, stimulants, sleeping tablets, and gabapentinoids.
-

Behavioural Addiction
Addiction is not limited to substances. We also treat behavioural, or process, addictions such as gambling, gaming and internet use, sex and pornography, food, and shopping, using the same integrative approach.
-

Dual Diagnosis
Addiction rarely travels alone. Many people are also living with anxiety, depression or a mood disorder, or trauma, and treating both together, known as dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder treatment, gives the strongest foundation for recovery.

Our Approach to Addiction Treatment
We treat the whole person, not just the addiction. Clinical psychology and medical care sit alongside holistic wellness therapy, so that mind, body, and emotional health are supported together. Talk therapies are delivered one to one and in groups, drawing on evidence-based methods such as CBT and mindfulness. You can read more about our psychotherapy approaches and how we work.

Addiction Treatment Thailand: Frequently Asked Questions
What types of addiction does The Beekeeper House treat?
We treat alcohol, drug, and prescription drug addiction, as well as behavioural addictions such as gambling and gaming. We also treat the mental health conditions that often accompany addiction, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, within the same programme.
What does treatment involve?
Treatment begins with an in-depth medical and psychological assessment, followed by a personalised plan. For most people this means medically supervised detox where it is needed, a residential therapy programme, and a structured aftercare plan for when you return home.
How long is a treatment programme?
Our residential programme has a minimum stay of 35 days. The right length depends on your needs and is agreed with you following assessment.
Is detox medically supervised?
Yes. Detox takes place on site under 24-hour medical care, overseen by our Medical Director. Some withdrawals can be dangerous if managed alone, which is why everyone is medically assessed first.
Do you treat addiction and mental health together?
Yes. Addiction and mental health conditions frequently occur together, which is known as dual diagnosis. As a centre that specialises in both, we treat them together within one integrated programme.
Do you treat prescription drug addiction?
Yes. We treat dependence on prescription painkillers, benzodiazepines, stimulants, sleeping tablets, and gabapentinoids, including medications such as OxyContin, Xanax, Valium, Ritalin, and Lyrica. Some of these require a carefully managed, medically supervised withdrawal.
Can I have treatment if I am travelling from overseas?
Yes. Most of the people we treat travel to us from abroad. Our admissions team supports you through assessment, travel, and arrival, with dedicated lines for the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States.
How much does treatment cost?
Treatment is tailored to each person, so the cost depends on your length of stay and the level of care required. We do not publish prices online, but our admissions team will provide a clear, all-inclusive quote during a free, confidential consultation.
Is my treatment confidential?
Yes. Privacy and discretion are central to how we work. Your treatment, and the fact that you are receiving it, remain confidential throughout your stay and beyond.
How do I start?
The first step is a free, confidential conversation with our admissions team. They will carry out an initial assessment, answer your questions, and help you decide whether The Beekeeper House is right for you or your loved one.
We treat all our clients as a whole — inclusive of mind, body and spirit.
Please feel free to contact us if you require any further information about our service.
