Our approach blends evidence-based clinical psychology with the Eastern traditions of cognitive awareness, mindfulness, and self-perception. Speak to our admissions team to learn about our admissions process and how treatment could work for you or someone you love.
The Beekeeper House is a leading, award-winning residential mental health and addiction treatment centre in Thailand, welcoming clients worldwide. Psychotherapy sits at the centre of every treatment plan, delivered through individual and group sessions drawn from a range of evidence-based approaches, matched to your needs rather than applied as a single fixed model.
Psychotherapy can support people experiencing a wide range of mental health and substance use concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, social phobias, relationship difficulties, sleep disorders, childhood trauma, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and trauma or PTSD. Many clients experience more than one of these conditions at the same time, and the symptoms that bring someone to treatment are often connected to patterns of thought, behaviour, or relationship that psychotherapy is well placed to address.
You do not need a formal diagnosis to benefit from psychotherapy. Many clients come to us already carrying a diagnosis from a previous provider, while others arrive without one and receive a full psychiatric and psychological assessment on arrival. Either way, your therapist works with you to understand what is actually driving your symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves, and builds your plan from there.

Fourteen approaches
The Approaches We Draw On
We draw on a wide range of evidence-based psychotherapy approaches, so your plan reflects what is actually useful for you rather than a single fixed model. Your therapist selects and combines approaches based on your assessment, and may adjust the mix as treatment progresses:
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a structured, present-focused approach that helps you identify disruptive patterns of thinking and the behaviours that follow from them, and develop practical strategies for shifting both in a more positive direction.
Dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), builds skills in mindfulness and present-moment awareness alongside distress tolerance and emotion regulation, and is particularly useful for clients who experience intense or rapidly shifting emotions.
Rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT)
Rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT), an early form of cognitive behavioural therapy that works directly on identifying irrational, self-defeating beliefs and actively disputing and replacing them with more realistic, healthier alternatives.
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT)
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), combines cognitive therapy techniques with structured meditative practice, helping you notice unhelpful thought patterns as they arise rather than becoming caught up in them.
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), supports you in accepting difficult thoughts and feelings rather than struggling against them, while committing to practical, values-based action toward the life you want to build.
Psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy
Psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, explores the unconscious mind and the patterns, formed by past experience, that continue to shape thoughts, feelings, and relationships in the present.
Humanistic therapy
Humanistic therapy, centres your personal growth, self-awareness, and positive characteristics, working from a stance of unconditional, non-judgemental support rather than a fixed treatment protocol.
Interpersonal therapy (IPT)
Interpersonal therapy (IPT), explores the relationship dynamics in your life, past and present, and how these connect to and affect your mental health, with a focus on improving communication and relationship patterns.
Contemporary trauma therapy
Contemporary trauma therapy, integrates several evidence-based approaches, including somatic experiencing and narrative exposure, to help the body and mind process traumatic experience rather than talk therapy alone.
Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), a structured approach that uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they lose their intensity and hold less power over daily life.
Internal family systems therapy (IFS)
Internal family systems therapy (IFS), works with the different internal parts that make up a person’s inner world and the conflicts between them, helping you understand and integrate these parts rather than being controlled by them.
Schema therapy
Schema therapy, identifies deeply ingrained, self-defeating patterns, often rooted in childhood, and works to shift them through a combination of cognitive, experiential, and relational techniques.
Motivational interviewing (MI)
Motivational interviewing (MI), a collaborative, conversational approach that strengthens your own motivation and commitment to change, rather than directing you toward goals set by someone else.
Integrative therapy
Integrative therapy, combines multiple techniques and traditions, including Eastern philosophy, tailored to your individual needs rather than following any single therapeutic model.
What to expect
What to Expect From Your Treatment Plan
Psychotherapy asks more of you than simply attending your sessions. Your therapist is there to support you in every way possible, but you are also an active participant in your own recovery, and the work you put in between sessions matters as much as the sessions themselves.
Every plan begins with an in-depth psychiatric and psychological assessment, which shapes which approaches your therapist recommends and how individual and group sessions are balanced across your programme. Your plan is not fixed: your therapist reviews it with you throughout your stay and adjusts it as your needs change, your symptoms shift, or new issues come to light.

Rehab in Thailand for International Clients

Our admissions team guides you through every step, from the initial consultation and clinical assessment, which take place by phone or video before you travel, through to travel, arrival, and settling in. Australian clients may also be able to access their superannuation early to fund treatment on medical grounds. Psychotherapy is talking-based treatment delivered by a trained therapist, used to address a wide range of mental health and substance use concerns. At The Beekeeper House, it forms the core of every treatment plan, delivered through individual and group sessions.
Which type of psychotherapy will I receive?
Your plan draws on the approaches most relevant to your needs, agreed with your therapist following assessment and adjusted throughout treatment. Most clients receive a combination of approaches rather than a single method.
Will I have individual or group therapy?
Both. Your programme includes individual one-to-one sessions with a dedicated therapist alongside group therapy, giving you space for personal work as well as peer support and shared learning.
How much does treatment cost?
Treatment is tailored to each person, so the cost depends on your length of stay and the level of care required. We do not publish prices online, but our admissions team will provide a clear, all-inclusive quote during a free, confidential consultation.
Is my treatment confidential?
Yes. Privacy and discretion are central to how we work. Your treatment, and the fact that you are receiving it, remain confidential throughout your stay and beyond.
How do I start?
The first step is a free, confidential conversation with our admissions team. They will carry out an initial assessment, answer your questions, and help you decide whether The Beekeeper House is right for you or your loved one.
We treat all our clients as a whole — inclusive of mind, body and spirit.
Please feel free to contact us if you require any further information about our service.
Reaching out is often the hardest step, and we make what follows as clear and supportive as possible. Whether you are seeking help for yourself, for a loved one, or referring a patient, our admissions team will talk you through your options with no pressure and complete confidentiality.
We accept referrals from GP’s, psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors, case managers, and other health professionals. To refer your clients or patients, please get in touch by sending us an email, giving us a call or filling out our online contact form.
